Floresville ISD issued the following announcement.
Floresville ISD is committed to keeping you informed regarding ongoing developments in the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Today, Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order extending Texas school closures through May 1, 2020.
While this extension will be difficult for our students and their families, FISD remains committed to providing an exceptional education to our students. As you know, FISD is hard at work preparing instruction for your child. The FISD@Home Learning website is updated each week with lessons created by your child’s teachers. For families who do not have a device or internet access, those same lessons are provided at packet pick up on Fridays for elementary students and on Mondays for secondary students. With grading guidance just recently released last week from the Texas Education Agency, the district will be providing an update to grading procedures by the end of the week.
FISD will also continue to provide meals Monday through Friday for children. Please continue to watch your email and the FISD website for updates regarding meal distribution. It is important to monitor your child’s social and emotional wellbeing during this uncertain time. If you notice that your child is struggling, please fill out this form so the district can provide counseling support. For the health of your family and our community, stay home when you can and practice social distancing if you are out. You can continue to find updates on the FISD Coronavirus-COVID-19 Information page.
We will get through this together. Take good care of yourself and your family.
