Gidding ISD issued the following announcement on June 23.
Giddings ISD has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation throughout the summer. GISD administrators have participated in regular briefings by the Texas Commissioner of
Education and the Governor.
Today, the Commissioner of Education will issue guidelines for the opening of schools for next year.
Although GISD officials have discussed options for the reopening of school for the 2020-21 academic year, details will be developed after the Commissioner’s provides guidelines for Texas public school districts.
Once the reopening plan is complete, it will be distributed to GISD employees, students, families, and the community.
