Floresville ISD issued the following announcement.
Dear FISD Families,
The first day of school is getting closer! Learning Option Registration is being finalized and Returning Student Registration is now open
Learning Option Changes: Learning Option Registration was opened today, Thursday, August 6 and will remain open, until Sunday, August 9 at 5:00 p.m. You only need to complete this form again if you are changing your child’s learning option from your initial choice of Face-to-Face or Remote Learning. Log in to your Skyward account and complete the tile that says “Learning Option Changes Cycle 1” to make a change. Any student who does not have a learning option selected by Sunday will automatically be registered as a face to face student.
If you do not have access to the internet to complete learning option registration, you can come to the FISD Administrative Office at 1200 5th Street today until 4:30 p.m. and tomorrow, August 7, from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., to complete the registration process.
While we are glad to offer parents the opportunity to choose their child’s learning option, please know that on Sunday after 5:00 p.m. we will begin finalizing master schedules based on your chosen options. The next opportunity to change your child’s learning option will be after the first grading period, which ends October 16.
New Information and Reminders
- Returning Student Registration: To register your returning FISD student(s), log in to your Skyward account and click on the tile that says “2020-2021 Returning Student Forms”. It will only take a few minutes to complete the registration. You must complete the registration forms for each child with the exception of the Free and Reduced Lunch Application (only one form per family is required). Registration must be completed before schedules/teachers are assigned.
- FISD has changed the screening requirement for students. Parents will be asked to complete an online symptom screener for their child(ren) daily, instead of weekly. The online screen will ask you to record your child’s temperature. Make sure you have a thermometer at home so that you can take your child’s temperature daily.
- When 6ft of social distancing is not possible or when students are in common areas, students can choose to either wear face masks and/or face shields, both are acceptable face coverings.
- Continue to check the 2020-2021 Reopening Information on the FISD website for updates to the Back-to-School Guidance, Remote Learning Plan and Family Communications.
- If you have questions, you can always email info@fisd.us
Sincerely,
Dr. Sherri Bays
Superintendent
