FLORESVILLE ISD: November Students of the Month

Volunteer

Floresville ISD issued the following announcement.

Capri Montgomery and David Rios, FHS November Students of the Month, were honored by the FISD Board of Trustees. Click the headline to read more about these outstanding seniors.

November Female Student of the Month

Capri Montgomery is the 17-year-old daughter of Heather and Monty Montgomery. She is in the top ten of her graduating class with an approximate GPA of 103.

Capri is very active both in school and out. She is a varsity cheerleader, plays varsity basketball for the Jaguars and runs track. She has served as a class officer, serving as President this year, is an active member of the National Honor Society, and a dedicated Link Crew leader. She was recently crowned princess for the Peanut Festival, and she stays busy with various community service projects such as basketball and cheer camps for children.

Capri has been recognized for her hard work to her athletics and her studies. She has been on the all “A” Honor Roll throughout high school, has been recognized as Academic All-District in basketball, and represented Floresville High School in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

Capri has been accepted to Texas A&M University-College Station where she plans to major in Geology.  Her strengths are Individualization, Futuristic, Achiever, Activator and Adaptability.

 November Male Student of the Month

David Rios is the 17-year-old son of Sylvia and David Rios. He is in top half of his graduating class with an approximate 3.2898 GPA.

David is involved in various school activities and organizations. He is the vice-president of the Technology Response Team and participates on the Cyber-Patriots team and indoor drumline with the Mighty Tiger Band. He has received various awards for his school accomplishments including the History Most Outstanding Student and Outstanding Band Member for 2019.

When not busy at school and in his activities, David volunteers as a Vacation Bible School leader and youth musician for his church. He also works part-time jobs cutting grass for his neighbors and cooking pizzas at Pizza Hut; he worked throughout the quarantine making pizzas. He has also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army, worked in the kitchen at Haven for Hope, and has been a leader for Sacred Heart retreats. He also volunteers at various school concession stands.

David plans to attend UTSA where he intends to major in Cyber Security. His strengths are Adaptability, Woo, Communication, Maximizer and Ideation.
