576 gifted and talented students were taught in Wharton County schools in the 2021-2022 school year

Test 08

Wharton County schools enrolled 576 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is a 12.3% increase over the previous school year.

Of the 8,016 students enrolled in Wharton County schools, 7.2% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Wharton County enrolled the 73rd highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
