How many Hispanic students were enrolled in La Vernia ISD schools in 2021-22 school year?

There were 1,101 Hispanic students enrolled in La Vernia ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 7.5% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that La Vernia ISD schools welcomed 3,363 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 32.7% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

La Vernia ISD roughly covers schools within Wilson County and has a main office in La Vernia.

Among the five schools in La Vernia ISD schools, La Vernia High School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 316 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
