There were 375 white students enrolled in Yoakum ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 2.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Yoakum ISD schools welcomed 1,546 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 24.3% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Yoakum ISD roughly covers schools within DeWitt County and has a main office in Yoakum.

Among the five schools in Yoakum ISD schools, Yoakum High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 148 students.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
