Enrollment Analysis: Pacific Islander students comprised 0.3% of Floresville ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 14 Pacific Islander students enrolled in Floresville ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 40% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Floresville ISD schools welcomed 4,042 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Floresville ISD roughly covers schools within Wilson County and has a main office in Floresville.

Among the five schools in Floresville ISD schools, Floresville North Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of five students.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
